We have relied on these through the years for the primary bilge pumps through seven boats (5 sail 32 ft – 36 ft. and two motor boats 30 ft – 47 ft), 10 switches in all, through 40 years boating. I only had one fail at the end of a long life (over 13 years) and the electrician who replaced it said this is only the second one in several decades he has been working with. He is a retired Navy electrician with extensive experience in the marine industry. These are actually more economical than the cheaper ones when you divide their cost by their life. We use the cheaper ones on the auxiliary pumps and they need replacing every two to three years, making those more costly, troublesome, and less reliable. The inconvenience of crawling in the bilge, taking the old one off, installing the new one and ensuring waterproof connection alone is worth not having to replace it. I have not had experience with the service end of things as I felt that I had gotten my monies worth ($120 spent 15 years ago or $10 pa on a highly reliable switch) and am not claiming their Lifetime Warranty. They gotta make a living too.
