PumpSwitch reviews

The best switch ever.

This switch is what other manufactures should follow. Different from the float switches that seem to have shorter and shorter life time now days. As a boat owner for 40 some years, I love this switch.

We have relied on these through the years for the primary bilge pumps through seven boats (5 sail 32 ft – 36 ft. and two motor boats 30 ft – 47 ft), 10 switches in all, through 40 years boating. I only had one fail at the end of a long life (over 13 years) and the electrician who replaced it said this is only the second one in several decades he has been working with. He is a retired Navy electrician with extensive experience in the marine industry. These are actually more economical than the cheaper ones when you divide their cost by their life. We use the cheaper ones on the auxiliary pumps and they need replacing every two to three years, making those more costly, troublesome, and less reliable. The inconvenience of crawling in the bilge, taking the old one off, installing the new one and ensuring waterproof connection alone is worth not having to replace it. I have not had experience with the service end of things as I felt that I had gotten my monies worth ($120 spent 15 years ago or $10 pa on a highly reliable switch) and am not claiming their Lifetime Warranty. They gotta make a living too.

Really expensive, but worth it. The way the wiring is set up, actually makes it much easier to install than most other bilge pumps. This is my 4th switch of this type. All are still working and some are 10 plus years old. I have not had to deal with the company, so I cannot comment on their customer service.

Ultra wonderful switch for my second main pump

Just ordered my second one of these to finally switch my main backup bilge pump on bigger boat.
Wanted to write this review before I forget. My old Ultra Jr is now 6-7 years old and after a false start has run flawlessly. Same for one of my more intelligent dock mates.
Great customer service on the phone and I think it was the factory that sold me the unit. Anyway the point is they told me to and I did:

I invested in a $40 heat gun to do a bang up job on the shrink wrap connectors and have never looked back -/ using the heat often on numerous other projects

So I wanted to tell that story

The Best Bilge Float Switch bar none!

I got tired of replacing RULE float switches every 6 months and they would fail at the most inopportune time. This is built very rugged (and in the USA). I don’t plan to replace this for a long time….

This is the best and most reliable pump switch I have found. A friend who is a harbor pilot and owns a boat yard recommended it to me. I am on my second sailboat and I just installed my 2nd “Ultra Safety Systems Pump Switch Sr.” and I never had a problem in the 11 years I had my first switch. The typical bilge float switch can hang up leaving your pump running constantly. That is what happened on my 2nd sailboat and today I installed my new one. I sincerely do not believe you can find a more trouble free pump switch.

These are likely the best float switches made

They were installed as original equipment on my Shannon sailboat, and they look for bullet proof reliability. We use it with a rule 3700 GPH and a Flo-jet. Bilge pumps and switches are one area where it is worth paying for the best.

Works flawlessly

Installed on 17 years ago. Still works fine. Have never had to service or clear it. I’ve kept my boat in a lot of waters with silty or skunky water (Chesapeake, Trent River, NC, Ortega River, FL.)

Bought this for a backup. Nothing works forever.
